An Axiomatic Design of a Multiagent Reconfigurable Mechatronic System Architecture
PROJECT TITLE :
An Axiomatic Design of a Multiagent Reconfigurable Mechatronic System Architecture
ABSTRACT:
In recent times, the fields of reconfigurable producing systems, holonic producing systems, and multiagent systems have created technological advances to support the ready reconfiguration of automated producing systems. Whereas these technological advances have demonstrated sturdy operation and been qualitatively successful in achieving reconfigurability, their ultimate industrial adoption remains restricted. Among the barriers to adoption has been the relative absence of formal and quantitative multiagent system style methodologies based mostly on reconfigurability measurement. Hence, it's not clear that the degree to that these designs have achieved their meant level of reconfigurability, that systems are indeed quantitatively additional reconfigurable, and how these designs might overcome their design limitations to achieve bigger reconfigurability in subsequent design iterations. To our knowledge, this paper is the first multiagent system reference design for reconfigurable manufacturing systems driven by a quantitative and formal design approach. It's rooted in a longtime engineering style methodology known as axiomatic design for large versatile engineering systems and attracts upon style principles distilled from previous works on reconfigurability measurement. The resulting design is written in terms of the mathematical description used in reconfigurability measurement, that straightforwardly permits instantiation for system-specific application.
