PROJECT TITLE :

Comparison between conventional and nanofilled enamels under different environmental conditions

ABSTRACT :

Throughout the last decade, insulated-gate bipolar transistorbased electronic devices have increasingly been adopted to control the ability supply of drives associated with Sort I randomwound rotating machines, and new reliability issues have surfaced [one]. Pulse width modulator drives that are associated with these machines manufacture voltage waveforms having fast rise time fronts, and overvoltages at the winding terminals can develop because of resonance and reflections within the connecting cables. The overvoltages made will become considerably above the partial discharge (PD) inception voltage (PDIV) of the magnet wire insulation so that PDs take place [2]??[thirteen]. Partial discharge rapidly erodes the organic insulating enamel, shortening the winding life, taking the machine out of service, and contributing to increased maintenance prices.
