Sub-lambda and wavelength path reconfiguration in multi-layer transport networks [invited]

PROJECT TITLE :

Sub-lambda and wavelength path reconfiguration in multi-layer transport networks [invited]

ABSTRACT:

We have a tendency to investigate adaptive reconfiguration of sub-lambda and wavelength methods to house unpredictable traffic demands. To accommodate traffic effectively, wavelength ways need to be reconfigured cooperatively with sub-lambda ways whereas minimizing the amount of migration sequences. So, we propose a scheme for sub-lambda and wavelength path reconfiguration based mostly on wavelength resource management in multi-layer transport networks. 3 steps comprise the proposed theme: wavelength resource management, reconfiguration trigger, and reconfiguration. 1st, management of the quantity of wavelength ways which will be accommodated between all node pairs is calculated for every path accommodated. Second, if that variety is less than the edge price set before for a few node try, reconfiguration is performed. Third, the sub-lambda and wavelength methods are reconfigured. In this theme, we have a tendency to also propose a sub-lambda path reconfiguration algorithm that reconfigures multi-hop sub-lambda paths to single-hop methods first, and two wavelength path reconfiguration algorithms that scale back wavelength fragmentation and the quantity of migration sequences considering the accommodation rate. Numerical evaluation shows that the amount of fibers is suppressed by twelve%???14% and that the equipment price is reduced by approximately eight%???ninep.c compared to when no reconfiguration is employed. The results also show that the amount of migration sequences for the wavelength defragmentation algorithms is reduced by approximately 23%???35p.c compared to that for the traditional algorithm.
