Assessing Electromagnetic Radiation in our Environment

PROJECT TITLE :

Assessing Electromagnetic Radiation in our Environment

ABSTRACT:

A variety of wireless networks have surrounded us for the availability of ubiquitous communication services. While the earliest communication infrastructure used wires for information exchange, wireless communication networks became additional common over the years. Wireless communication provides freedom from wires and permits a tool to communicate over a network no matter its location. All wireless networks employ antennas that broadcast knowledge into our environment as electromagnetic signals. With an increasing range of wireless networks, the quantity of parts that radiate in our ambient atmosphere has conjointly risen considerably. While every antenna element could broadcast at a relatively smaller transmit power, a giant number of such antennas might emit considerable quantity of electromagnetic energy into the environment. In June 201one, the planet Health Organization reported that the electromagnetic fields made by mobile phones are classified as “probably carcinogenic” by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. It is obvious that the impact of our wireless footprint is of more concern in countries that have well-deployed wireless networks in both indoor and outside setups. In this regard, South Korea is home to a variety of communication networks that are densely deployed nearly everywhere. From homes and offices that use WiFi, to vehicles, tourist points, and other out of doors areas that make use of diverse cellular technologies, humans stay continuously exposed to electromagnetic radiation. To assess the impact of this radiation on human health, many organizations have established thresholds that reflect on a human's most limit of exposure to electromagnetic radiation. The popular organizations that focus on this issue embrace the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and therefore the IEEE. Several research works are conducted to assess the amounts of radiation e- itted by totally different communication networks. Most of those works study the radiation coming back out of only one transmitting device (using a number of antennas).
