Interference Prediction in Partially Loaded Cellular Networks Using Asymmetric Cost Functions - 2018

ABSTRACT:

The traffic patterns of users during a base station coupled with the sub-frame blanking due to HetNets results in partially loaded base stations and dynamic interference patterns. Hence, the channel quality indicator data obtained through pilots at a specific time instant would not be reflective of the interference that a user would possibly expertise in the immediate future. In this letter, we tend to take into account interference prediction in a slot using previous interference values. We tend to observe that standard Wiener filter primarily based linear prediction that minimizes mean square error performs very badly and hence propose a variant where the weights used for prediction are biased. We have a tendency to conjointly use an asymmetric cost function called Linex and observe through simulations that these 2 ways perform significantly higher than conventional linear prediction. In some cases, the ergodic rate obtained due to the expected interference is almost ninetyp.c of the actual rate achievable.
