Digital Slew Rate and S-Shape Control for Smart Power Switches to Reduce EMI Generation

PROJECT TITLE :

Digital Slew Rate and S-Shape Control for Smart Power Switches to Reduce EMI Generation

ABSTRACT:

Good power switches are power switches with integrated control and protection functions for the switching of middle- and high-current hundreds. In explicit in automotive applications, sensible power switches should be operated while not extra stabilization networks, EMI filters, and warmth sinks to keep the weight, required area and costs of the circuit boards as low as possible. Therefore, the generated electromagnetic emissions must be reduced by another measure without significantly increasing the switching losses. This will be achieved by the active management of the primary and/or second spinoff of the output voltage. This paper presents a digital slew rate management and its extension to an S-form management strategy, that in addition to the slew rate, also controls the second derivative of the output voltage. Both strategies are primarily based on feedforward gate current profiles, that are iteratively adapted by an iterative learning management strategy to complete load variations and temperature dependences. A fast prototyping take a look at bench is presented, and also the performance and robustness of the control ways are demonstrated by a series of measurement results. An EMC compliance check consistent with the CSIPR 25 commonplace shows that the generation of conducted electromagnetic emissions will be reduced during a power economical manner by the proposed approach.
