Context-Based Access Control Systems for Mobile Devices
PROJECT TITLE :
Context-Based Access Control Systems for Mobile Devices
ABSTRACT:
Mobile Android applications usually have access to sensitive data and resources on the user device. Misuse of this data by malicious applications could lead to privacy breaches and sensitive data leakage. An example would be a malicious application surreptitiously recording a confidential business conversation. The problem arises from the fact that Android users don't have control over the appliance capabilities once the applications have been granted the requested privileges upon installation. In several cases, however, whether an application could get a privilege depends on the particular user context and so we tend to would like a context-based mostly access management mechanism by that privileges will be dynamically granted or revoked to applications based on the precise context of the user. In this paper we tend to propose such an access management mechanism. Our implementation of context differentiates between closely located sub-areas inside the identical location. We have a tendency to have changed the Android operating system therefore that context-based mostly access management restrictions can be specified and enforced. We tend to have performed several experiments to assess the potency of our access control mechanism and therefore the accuracy of context detection.
