CEREBRE: A Novel Method for Very High Accuracy Event-Related Potential Biometric Identification

ABSTRACT:

The vast majority of existing work on brain biometrics has been conducted on the continued electroencephalogram. Here, we have a tendency to argue that the averaged event-related potential (ERP) might provide the potential for a lot of correct biometric identification, as its elicitation permits for some control over the cognitive state of the user to be obtained through the design of the challenge protocol. We tend to describe the Cognitive Event-Connected Biometric REcognition (CEREBRE) protocol, an ERP biometric protocol designed to elicit individually distinctive responses from multiple purposeful brain systems (e.g., the first visual, facial recognition, and gustatory/appetitive systems). Results indicate that there are multiple configurations of data collected with the CEREBRE protocol that each one allow a hundred% identification accuracy in a very pool of fifty users. We tend to take this result as the evidence that ERP biometrics are a possible method of user identification and merit further research.
