MAES: Modified Advanced Encryption Standard for Resource Constraint Environments - 2018

ABSTRACT:

Net of things (IoT), internetworking of sensible devices, embedded with sensors, software, electronics and network connectivity that enables to speak with each other to exchange and collect information through an unsure wireless medium. Recently IoT devices are dominating the planet by providing it's versatile functionality and real-time information communication. Apart from versatile functionality of IoT devices, they're terribly low-battery powered, small and refined, and experience lots of challenges because of unsafe communication medium. Despite the fact of many challenges, the energy issue is currently becoming the prime concern. Optimization of algorithms in terms of energy consumption has not been explored specifically, rather most of the algorithms target hardware space to minimize it extensively and to maximize it on security issue as potential. But because of recent emerge of IoT devices, the most concern is shifting to moderate security and less energy consumption rate. We gift MAES, a light-weight version of Advanced Encryption Normal (AES) which meets the demand. A replacement 1-dimensional Substitution Box is proposed by formulating a novel equation for constructing a sq. matrix in affine transformation section of MAES. Potency rate of MAES is around eighteen.35percent in terms of packet transmission which indicates MAES consumes less energy than AES and it's applicable for Resource Constraint Environments.
