A New CDMA Encoding/Decoding Method for on-Chip Communication Network - 2016

PROJECT TITLE :

A New CDMA Encoding/Decoding Method for on-Chip Communication Network - 2016

ABSTRACT:

As a high performance on-chip communication methodology, the code division multiple access (CDMA) technique has recently been applied to networks on chip (NoCs). We have a tendency to propose a new commonplace-basis-based mostly encoding/decoding method to leverage the performance and price of CDMA NoCs in area, power assumption, and network throughput. Within the transmitter module, supply data from different senders are separately encoded with an orthogonal code of a customary basis and these coded data are mixed together by an XOR operation. Then, the sums of information can be transmitted to their destinations through the on-chip communication infrastructure. In the receiver module, a sequence of chips is retrieved by taking an AND operation between the sums of knowledge and also the corresponding orthogonal code. When a straightforward accumulation of those chips, original knowledge can be reconstructed. We tend to implement our encoding/decoding method and apply it to a CDMA NoC with a star topology. Compared with the state-of-the-art Walsh-code-primarily based (WB) encoding/decoding technique, our technique achieves up to 67.46% power saving and eighty one.twenty four% area saving along with decrease of 30%-50p.c encoding/decoding latency. Moreover, the CDMA NoC with completely different sizes applying our encoding/decoding methodology gains power saving, space saving, and maximal throughput improvement up to 20.25p.c, 22.91%, and 103.twenty six%, respectively, than the WB CDMA NoC.
