Modeling DC Distribution Systems with Dual Active Bridge Converters

PROJECT TITLE :

Modeling Dual Active Bridge Converters in DC Distribution Systems

ABSTRACT:

Dual active bridge (DAB) converter systems are proposed for improved modelling. Systematic methods for building models of multiconverter systems are first discussed in this article. System-level analysis and efficient time-domain simulation can be achieved by using the method's continuous-time large signal average models. DAB models are derived from GAM, but the system-level development does not require the identification of a base period. It is also recommended that the high-frequency DAB transformer currents can be reconstructed. DAB models derived using GAM have a significant problem with transformer current modelling, which this method significantly improves. It also doesn't affect the computational complexity of time-domain simulation because the method is applied offline. Both the system-level model construction procedure and the harmonic reconstruction method have been tested in switching simulations and in hardware experiments, respectively.
