A Novel DC-Power Control Method for Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter (Mar 2017) - 2017

ABSTRACT:

The cascaded H-bridge converter has been widely used in business. The flexibility of coping with unequal power generation among dc links is essentially needed in several applications, like large-scale photovoltaic power plants and electric vehicles. In this paper, a novel dc-power management technique (PCM) is proposed to stay the ac-current balance and maintain power generation ratios of every dc supply at their expected values. A simplified modulation strategy is introduced to implement the proposed method, in which the period times are modified directly by the correction price derived from the PCM method. To calculate and adjust the facility generation ratios, a method based mostly on first-in initial-out (FIFO) knowledge queue is utilised. The limitation and ranges of power generation ratio are analyzed intimately. DC power per section can be controlled accurately by the proposed technique in variable-frequency condition, even below larger power generation ratios. Results obtained from simulations and experiments are presented to verify the feasibilities and superiorities of the proposed technique.
