LOMCF: Forwarding and Caching in Named Data Networking based MANETs - 2017

ABSTRACT:

Named information networking (NDN) resolves ancient transmission control protocol/web protocol (TCP/IP)-based mostly Internet problems (i.e., location dependent, advanced usage, scalability, poor resource utilization, etc.) and is considered as an eligible candidate for futuristic Net paradigm. In NDN-primarily based mobile unintended networks (MANETs), the collaborating nodes are operated in highly dynamic and challengeable surroundings such as low battery power, channel fluctuations, intermittent connectivity, etc. Thanks to the printed nature of the wireless channel, the NDN-primarily based MANETs highlight severe issues (e.g., packet collisions, flooding, knowledge redundancy, and packet retransmissions), that further degrade network performance. In this paper, to address these problems, we tend to have proposed a unique protocol, named location-aware on-demand multipath caching and forwarding for NDN-primarily based MANETs. Performance of the proposed protocol is evaluated by employing a simulator known as ndnSIM. Intensive experiments along their results show that proposed protocol performs better as compared with the opposite recent proposed protocols in terms of content retrieval time, Interest retransmissions, and the overall variety of Interest packets injected, with discarded, within the network.
