An Energy-Efficient and Distributed Cooperation Mechanism for k -Coverage Hole Detection and Healing in WSNs - 2018

ABSTRACT:

Present approaches to realize k-coverage for Wireless Sensor Networks still depend on centralized techniques. In this Project, we have a tendency to devise a distributed method for this drawback, namely Distributed VOronoi based mostly Cooperation theme (DVOC), where nodes cooperate in hole detection and recovery. In previous Voronoi based schemes, each node only monitors its own crucial points. Such strategies are inefficient for k-coverage as a result of the vital points are way away from their generating nodes in k-order Voronoi diagram, inflicting high value for transmission and computing. As a answer, DVOC permits nodes to monitor others' essential points around themselves by building native Voronoi diagrams (LVDs). Any, DVOC constrains the movement of every node to avoid generating new holes. If a node cannot reach its destination because of the constraint, its hole healing responsibility will fall to different cooperating nodes. The experimental results from the $64000 world testbed demonstrate that DVOC outperforms the previous schemes.
