A Method to Evaluate Total Supply Capability of Distribution Systems Considering Network Reconfiguration and Daily Load Curves

PROJECT TITLE :

A Method to Evaluate Total Supply Capability of Distribution Systems Considering Network Reconfiguration and Daily Load Curves

ABSTRACT:

The entire supply capability (TSC) is a crucial index for assessing the reliability of a distribution power system. In this paper, 2 models to evaluate the TSC are established. In the first, the TSC is acquired with the conditions that each one load outages can be restored via network reconfiguration with transformers' N-one contingencies, i.e., that every one constraints related to branch thermal ratings and bus-voltage limits will be glad following restoration for every N-one contingency. The second model, which is revision of the primary, considers the daily load curves for various categories of customers, e.g., residential, industrial and industrial. Both models can be formulated as mixed integer issues with second-order cone programming (MISOCP), which can be solved using commercially accessible optimization software. 2 take a look at systems are used to demonstrate the applicability of the presented models. Numerical results show that the presented model is more correct than the previously published models. This proposed analytical approach will be applied in a range of network planning studies, e.g., for choosing acceptable ratings of transformers, or for optimal locating of circuit breakers and distributed energy resources.
