Engineering Gesture-Based Authentication Systems

ABSTRACT:

Gestures are a topic of accelerating interest in authentication, but successfully implementing them as a security layer requires reliable gesture recognition. Thus far, much work focuses on new ways that to acknowledge gestures, leaving discussion on the viability of recognition in an authentication theme to the background. It's as however unclear how gesture recognition ought to be deployed for practical and robust real-world authentication. In this text, the authors analyze the effectiveness of various approaches to recognizing gestures and therefore the potential for use in secure gesture-based mostly authentication systems. This text is part of a special issue on privacy and security.
